For the first date, Dj Kyri, founder of the underground soul label R2 records, presents a 2 hour tribute to Prince. This is what he has to say:

"My Prince obsession began in 1984 when my older brother was sent a promo copy of Purple Rain by a friend that worked at Warner Bros. I had a vague idea who he was, 1999 being on the outskirts of my consciousness, but it was listening to this album that began the real fascination. I was amazed that he had already released five albums previously, and immediately started hunting them down. At the time I was hard pushed to find anyone else that actually liked Prince, the vast majority in the playground insisting MJ was better, while Prince fans were branded 'weird'. This made the obsession intensify, and whenever I met a fellow fan, there was an instant bonding. We then began collecting all the associated artists and any other Minneapolis Funk influenced bands, all trying to find that obscure release that no one else had.

Prince is so much more than his hits; in addition to his vast catalogue, he has produced, written for and influenced a whole era of music... this will be a deeper look at his phenomenal contribution to music."
