Jarvis Cocker, our legendary host for the evening, will be kicking off the fun with his very own DJ set, followed by a full showcase from the Boxettes – all female beatbox/a cappella group unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

Seeing us through to the end of the evening we have Dr Syntax and Stig of the Dump with their immense display of hip-hop mentalness that we love, and you will too.

Out from depths of the age of convenience and mass synthetic sound has arrived a concept still fresh, fantastically intangible and technically dazzling. These five extraordinary young women expand the realms of vocal possibility, blending exceptional harmonies with extraordinary sounds and ground-shaking beats. This electrifying phenomenon is an enigma that can only be fully realised once witnessed. Welcome to the amazing world that is the Boxettes. 
 


Well surpassing just about any expectations one could possibly have on a girl band, the Boxettes’ show leaves everyone (and I mean everyone) inspired, moved, and quite stunned. Detached from specific genre and even description, they are frankly impossible to pigeonhole; the term ‘alternative a’cappella’ just doesn’t evoke even a fraction of the sheer brilliance the Boxettes conjure up with such ease. Among the personnel is melodic songstress Yvette, vivacious diva Neo, enigmatic siren Harriet, entrancing songbird Alyusha and the current female beatbox world champion, Bellatrix.
A concoction of masterful song writing, enthralling stage presence and awe-inspiring sounds from these five musical personalities make them the most diverse and eclectic female group out there.
