Fertilizer Festival - good s**t from Poland presents Pink Freud & Pete Wareham / Baaba.
With a name like Pink Freud you'd expect Gdansk's leading improvising trio to bend our minds with their blend of rock, drum n'bass and jungle-inspired jazz. This new collaboration with saxophonist Pete Wareham, from cult jazz outfit Acoustic Ladyland and UK Mercury nominees Polar Bear, pays homage to the highly influential ‘yass' scene which centred around Gdansk in the 1990s, and saw musicians creating new improvised music from influences as diverse as punk and folk.
Opening the show, Warsaw's Baaba. We like their blend of jazz and electronica, which is infused with great melody and a good dose of irreverential humour.
Fertilizer Festival celebrates the unique, the adventurous and the freshest new music from around the world. This year sees us heading East to uncover the very latest underground sounds from Gdansk to Warsaw.
