The Mysterious Five Easy Pieces crew go head to head with Italians Do It Better for a night of stripped down disco and rock. Five Easy Pieces have already surprised us with their varied and brilliant line-ups that have included Nite Jewel, New Look, O. Children, Gold Panda and more. And tonight they've gone and topped that with the excellent Glass Candy, Desire and A Mountain of One all playing LIVE.
Ever evolving, reinventing, ass shaking ushers of early death disko, Glass Candy have traveled from bare bones stripped down honky tonk disco rock to equal parts digital and analog, to synthesizer/drum machine heaven with a side of sexy bass and live drums. Always with a giant dose of visual stylized perfection. Born in Portland in the late late 90's, and taking over the world in the mid 2000's. Current line up is Ida No on vocals and barefoot dance, Johnny Jewel on sythns, guitar, and production, and Dusty Sparkles on drums.
When Glass Candy was on tour last year, they stumbled into a foggy night club in Montreal and saw a woman singing an entire set of Jean-Pierre Massiera songs. Meet Megan Louise, the crystal clear tenor who sings in French and English over Desire's debut Lp, II. Completely blown away by her voice, Johnny Jewel decided to lock the doors on his Portland studio, and plant roots in Montreal. "I had been working on music for an abstract project named Desire for over two years. I was just waiting for the right singer to come along. When I heard Megan, I knew I had to try and convince her to do it." Desire's music stands right on the line between indie pop and electronic dance music. Without making any promises to either camp, the group delivers plenty of lush melodies and hypnotic drums to keep everyone hooked. On stage 9pm sharp!

A Mountain Of One have produced one of the albums of the year. ‘Institute Of Joy' is one of the most ambitious, phenomenal records for a long time.
Formed in 2006 by Zeben Jameson and Mo Morris, A Mountain Of One quickly gained cult status with their critically acclaimed EP "Warping Of The Clock". Three years on and the masters of cosmic rock return with their long awaited debut album "Institute Of Joy".
Zeben toured as keyboardist with Oasis, Tricky, The Pretenders and Brian Ferry before joining up with Mo Morris for "Institute Of Joy".The buzz the band have steadily built up around their work looks set to give "Institute Of Joy" the exposure it so richly deserves.
Track times regularly clock in at near the seven minute mark. You never detect anxiety, politesse or corners being cut to make the right impression. ‘Institute Of Joy' is full of hypnotising emotion - driving drums, pastoral folk, gospel choirs and voodoo healings for your soul. It's an album that could wrap itself round the world. It's a massive achievement, a record that looks through the past to discover the future, a musical trip that for people to lose
themselves in. Its music for the mind and soul, the work of a band at the peak of their powers and phenomenally creative.
Whilst there seems to be no end to the influences on this record, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Talk Talk, Neu!, Spiritualized, Neil Young, John Martyn and more. All though this is brought into focus by the band and in doing so have made a record that is more than just the sum of its parts.
The band is heading out for their official european album tour this fall incl. all major countries and cities. The opening night sees the band headlining Movement Festival in Italy _ the band promising an experience that will be food for the mind and the soul.
