"If Willner doesn't hit at least some of your pleasure centers, well, forget your ears - your nerve endings might actually be dead. Even three months in, it's a safe bet that From Here We Go Sublime will wind up 2007's most luxuriant record." - Pitchfork/2007
Allez-Allez are extremely proud to present an exclusive London show with Kompakt's The Field. The Field is Axel Willner, and his last album, From Here We Go Sublime, was one of the most acclaimed releases of 2007, receiving a 9.0 on Pitchfork and universal praise. It was a soundtrack to the spit-shined airport of your dreams - faceless, futuristic, and fuzzy. Now The Field has evolved into a three piece band consisting of percussionist Dan Enqvist and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Söderstrom (of Ass and Taken By Trees fame), bringing a completely new depth and voracity to live performances.
For the first time since Field Day 2008 (where they shared a headlining slot with Foals), The Field returns to London Friday, April 3rd to Cargo for an exclusive performance. This is a prime opportunity to see/hear new songs from the forthcoming album new album "Yesterday & Today" (out 25th May on Kompakt) in a perfect intimate surrounding with live support from Border Community's synth-wizard Luke Abbott with his James Holden approved hypnotic / ecstatic sounds, and choice musical selections from Allez-Allez and 20 Jazz Funk Greats DJs - admission is FREE as part of Cargo's hugely successful 'FREE FRIDAYS' so please arrive as early as you can to ensure your entrance..
