The legend returns! Following our last roadblock event at CARGO featuring rave legends The Ratpack which was one in, one out by eleven PM and saw queue's stretching right around the venue. Fresh off the back of this success HOW'S MY RAVING? return to Cargo for their second event as part of Cargo's massive FREE FRIDAYS series.
This time we have secured the exclusive London live debut performance from Bolton's BLACKOUT CREW, the leading act from one the most talked about scenes of the last twelve-months DONK! The Blackout Crew consists of six MCs: Viper, Cover, Rapid, Dowie, Zak K and Dubble alongside DJs Saha, Jonezy and Siddy B. All in their early 20's this young crew have worked hard to establish themselves as the pinnacle crew in the Northern UK dance scene known as ‘DONK'. The crew shot to fame with the release of their massive crossover single ‘Put A Donk On It' aqnd tonite they will be performing an exclusive Live PA featuring the singles Bbbounce, Put A Donk On It and their latest single Dailed. This is the first time The Blackout Crew have performed in London and will also be the first time a Donk act has performed in the capital - be prepared to bounce!
Also on the bill we have Croydon's A1 BASSLINE, having shot to fame on the underground with his Girl Thing EP featuring vocals from his 15-year old neighbour - A1 Bassline is now on the remix books of all the stars, currently reworking The Virgins, Little Boots and getting some serious Radio 1 airplay with his Frank Musik remix, this is one bassline heavy mutha that's going to blow the HMR? crew away!
Bringing the Booty back East we have the legendary DJ GUY! Europe's leading booty turntablist and the man behind the Global Fire record label, his sets are not to be missed, Booty Bass, Ghettotech and Chicago House are all chopped and screwed with finesse by this turntablist extraordinaire who will leave the crowd stunned by his deck wizardry.
Hot City will be lurching around the booth previewing his upcoming 12 on one of the hypest labels around RAMP records (the label that brought you Flying Lotus & Zomby, don't you know...) - an East London badman who's garage-inspired beats have seem him draw support from some of the hottest players on the scene, be voted No.76 in DJ Mag's Top 100 of 2009 poll as well as deliver a killer covermount mix CD for FACT Magazine. Word!
DISCO OF DOOM will be bringing the main room to its knees with filth so hot it's stinking. Having signed to New York's Coco Machete Records for the release of their second EP ‘Warpig' b/w ‘Spawn Again' the duo have also just remixed electro don Etienne De Cracy alongside FUKKK OFFF!
Last but definitely not least we have Offset Festival's Live From Baghdad who will be dusting off his Chicago-House records to unleash some of the hippest house music heard this side of the Atlantic.
