Jackanory & The Ball
Jackanory and the Ball are a north London duo who deliver a genuinely unique and eclectic sound, straight to your Hi-Fi. The accomplished production of Michael Rendall provides the perfect backdrops for the engaging and honest vocals of Tom Skelton.
The Project's early efforts gained them quick notoriety and demands for more tunes. As their fan base grew, so too did demands for live shows. The onstage chemistry was obvious to all, and as the duo electrified audiences across north London and Hertfordshire it became clear they needed to become more than a side project.
Jackanory
Jackanory boasts a versatile and impressive career as a performer, producer and DJ. The garage and house scene gave him a platform as a regular contributor to pirate radio stations. This led to several releases under the artist name of Jelly Beats. Still an active producer, he has recently contributed to the latest Futureheads album and is gaining recognition as a re-mix artist.
Ball
Ball is Singer/Songwriter/Producer and former drummer for Bath based Adopted Monkey, featuring on their debut E.P before relocating to Hertfordshire. He went on to MC for breakbeat outfit Diverted, appearing on a number of releases including their 2009 self titled album and making several live appearances for them, including a residency at Cargo and a prestigious and coveted live set at Fabric's annual 'Breakspoll' awards. 2009 also saw the release of Ball's solo album.
Bim
Rebecca and Tim are new London-based electro-pop band, Bim.
With their blend of harmonies, piano duets and electro beats, the duo have already made a name for themselves online - charting at #6 in the iTunes electro charts and having over 650,000 YouTube hits for their single, Stay In My Memory; and thousands following their Twitter, Facebook and Myspace pages.
Musically, Bim have been compared to The Cardigans, The Cocteau Twins and Imogen Heap, with a live stage show that echoes the energy of Blondie, Madonna and Abba.
Their debut album, Scatterheart, was entirely written, recorded, produced and promoted by Tim and Rebecca, and is released along side a string of home-grown music videos.
"You make the most beautiful and sad music I've ever heard."
Patch Lunch
Patch "Lunch" Morrison has been making music since 1998 when his love for collecting old hip hop and jazz records progressed into a passion for record production and beat making. Now working as a sound editor and composer for various broadcast media, you can hear a strong leaning towards the drama and emotive expression of contemporary film scores in his work, as well as splashes of Kankick, Vadim and DJ Krush to name but a few influential beat makers. Patch plays keyboards, saxophone, turntables, samplers, frisbee and basketball.
Doors at 6pm. Entry £5 in advance or £7 on the door.
