La Excelencia, the 12-piece salsa dura powerhouse orch. comes to London to perform tracks from their new critically acclaimed CD ' Mi Tumbao Social' which is hailed as a masterpiece reminiscent of the golden age of salsa but infused with social and political messages of our times. Currently the hottest salsa band on the planet, La Excelencia deliver on all musical fronts with a dramatic vocals contrast to the songs, masterful playing of percussion and rhythmn section, and their secret weapon in La Excelencia's formidable arsenal of weapons of musical destruction is their wild brass section: three trombones and three trumpet players. In these days of bland musical productions, it is refreshing to hear La Excelencia deliver it in their own musical vision, their 'Mi Tumbao Social'
