RUSTIE: Now signed to the infamous Warp Records his reputation has been built through releases on Stuff Records, Hyperdub, Wireblock and various other labels. He’s part of the new wave of electronic hip hop producers, he cuts and pastes his way through what he calls bass fuelled party aquacrunk. 2010 saw his Fabric debut in January and will see the release of his debut artist album so this is definitely the right time to see Rustie!
AMERICAN MEN: American Men are a three-piece band formed by Paul (Socrates Orlando), Ali and Stuart (Claude Speed). Ali plays in Eunoia, Paul is a member of Dananananaykroyd and Stuart makes beats as Solum. Together however they do not like to tie themselves to any genre so legally we can only describe them as melodic, glitchy and atmospheric, definite ones to watch!
THE BLESSINGS: The production alias for the two founders of Lucky Me and our co-hosts, Dom Sum & Fine Art. A melting pot of 90's influence including New Jack Swing, RnB, Garage & Deep House all getting processed by the new beat sound of Hip Hop. To date they have featured in The Independent, The List, Mixmag, The New Yorker, Dazed & Confused (included in the Young Creative Entrepreneurs feature alongside Diplo and Merok Records).
Rounding up this month’s line up we have the excellent Éclair Fifi a girl with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Italo, Electro, Hip Hop & Club music alongside Dema, one half of RKGB who will be blasting out electronic bassline and hip hop. So there you have it!
