Part 1

Beyond The Borders 6pm - 10.30pm

A regular event celebrating the musical cultures of the World, and exploring the fusions between them. What began as a monthly night at Passing Clouds in Dalston (London) is starting spread in other venues around London and elsewhere. We promote new and original live music, from ALL over the World. Our nights feature musicians from Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin and North America, usually with artists from more than one continent on the same night. Our favourite recipe comes from the collaborations and fusions which arise spontaneously at our nights. Our musical shows are experimental but at the same time accessible and danceable, blending rhythm from musical styles, electronica, and acoustic and traditional sounds. Later in the evening, our resident djs take over spinning the best tunes from around the World. As our name suggests, the mission of Beyond the Borders is to bring people from different musical and cultural backgrounds together though world class live fusion acts. This is the culture of the 21st Century. We celebrate our differences and our unity, creating understanding through music.

The last BTB at Passing Clouds was literally a road block. It was one of the most memorable nights. Big love and respect to London Afrobeat Collective and the very special Krar Collective (BZ Ethiopian Band). Check out there videos form the night - http://vimeo.com/10642157 http://vimeo.com/10640661

Kasai Masai (Afro-beat / Folk)

Music from African Village with a London edge. This is the sound of the old and the new, of the countryside and the city, from deep in the heart of Africa.

Rooted in the foothills of the Nepalese Himalayas. Yak Attack plays with a truly global sound, creating beats and melodies which are steeped in influences from all the continents.

OUR HOUSE PRESENTS LOTTIE & SUZE ROSSER

After the huge success of the first "Our House" installment we are happy to welcome back Lottie and also introduce a new face to the arches of Cargo Suze Rosser.

The legendary Lottie has had the dance floors moving for over a decade now and her little black book of parties and venues she plays and has played boasts an array of super clubs such as The Hacienda, Ministry of Sound, Back to Basics, Turnmills, Matter, Amnesia Ibiza and Space to name a few! Not forgetting previous ties with Radio One and guest slots at Ministry Radio. Lottie's sound is solid yet twisted and at times underground but one thing is for sure the floor is always shaking with base. Lottie is one half of Dr Strangelove the other half being Pete Martin of Coburn who have just released Photograph which is out now on Gung Ho! Recordings Dr Stranglove have remixed tracks for the likes of Caged Baby, Infadels, AHuman and David Guetta!

Suze Rosser has been tipped as one to watch for 2010 and described as a DJ with "discerning talent who is technically perfect" championed by Lottie, Suze has played along side artists such as Paul Woolford, Pete Tong, Lottie, Heidi (Radio 1), Sister Bliss and has played at venues such as Ministry of Sound, The Den and also holds regular bi-monthly residency with her night Hustle which is now into it's 3rd year. Suze has also recently produced her own Hustle Edit of Ellie Goulding's "Under the Sheets"

Expect a night of continuous high quality sounds which will get that Friday feeling going and leave you feeling musically refreshed and craving more!
