Let's face it there's only one date in the calendar that really matters in clubland, coveted by promoters and DJs alike there are few things in life more prestigious than a January the 2nd gig. Whilst superstar DJs like Fatboy Tong and Judge Cox are off sunning themselves in the tropics counting the loot from NYE, your real pros are back out there in the trenches entertaining those in need of one last proper blow out before returning to their office cubicle's to begin yet another year of paper shuffling.
Cargo, realising the importance of this date, have done the right thing and have entrusted this date to gentleman bloggers Slutty Fringe, who have assembled an all star cast of DJs to ease us into the new year. A cast that includes South coast crate diggers Soft Rocks, currently riding high on the back of their Rob da Bank endorsed remix of MGMT, Fabric resident and general encyclopedia discoteca Bill Brewster, Jonny Burnip the latest signing to officially the best record label in the world* New York's DFA, local boys done good The Romantic Motherfuckers and of course Slutty Fringe's own John Power & Tony Poland.
So break out the alka seltzer, force yourself into those party clothes and get ready for one last blow out, and if you wasted all your Christmas cash on a rubbish NYE, don't worry it's even free entry all night. You can always start your resolutions on the 3rd can't you?
